Before the funds, the Foundation needs people who care.
The single most useful thing right now is governance: we are recruiting the trustees who will let us become a registered charity. That is the one thing standing between today and a Foundation that can claim Gift Aid.
Become a founding trustee.
A charity of this kind cannot be registered with a single trustee. We need at least three — and at least one with no connection to Momentum Focus Ltd, so the oversight is real. Recruiting two more is the next step. Everything else is ready.
Govern
Steer the Foundation as a board — agree the plan, approve the accounts, and hold the work to its objects. Trustees decide; they do not run the day-to-day.
Safeguard the purpose
Protect the Foundation's independence, its assets and its name — including every decision where the charity and Momentum Focus Ltd meet. That is what the independent trustee is for.
Set the direction
Make sure everything we do delivers real public benefit for neurodivergent people, and that we stay within charity law. Honest oversight, not ceremony.
The ask, stated plainly.
No surprises. This is the whole commitment, written down.
About a day a month
A few hours a quarter, plus board meetings. Remote-friendly.
Unpaid
Charity trustees serve voluntarily. Reasonable expenses are covered.
At least one independent
Of three or more trustees, one must have no connection to Momentum Focus Ltd.
Who can be a trustee.
Six honest checks. Most people pass all six without thinking about it. You confirm them in writing when you join.
- Aged 18 or over (16 is the legal minimum for a CIO).
- Not disqualified from acting as a charity trustee.
- Not an undischarged bankrupt, and no unspent IVA or bankruptcy-restrictions order.
- No unspent conviction for dishonesty, deception, terrorism, money-laundering or bribery.
- Not on the sex offenders register; not disqualified as a company director.
- Never removed as a trustee or charity officer for misconduct or mismanagement.
Where we are, honestly
A company today. A charity once the board is complete.
Right now the Foundation operates at the company stage. It is not yet a registered charity, which means Gift Aid is not live on donations.
Recruiting the trustees is what lets us convert to a charitable incorporated organisation. Once that conversion completes, Gift Aid becomes available — and our ledger, which starts at exactly £0, becomes public to anyone who wants to check it.

Lend a skill — design, research, lived experience, outreach, content. As the Foundation grows we will open structured volunteer roles. Tell us what you would bring.

Organisations, clinicians, educators and employers who share the mission of neuro-inclusion can partner with us to extend reach. Start with a conversation, not a contract.
